Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Yufuin Sansuikan, I found it to be a well-appointed retreat, ideal for a moment of relaxation amidst nature. The large room provided ample space to unwind after my Himalayan adventures, yet it felt undeniably foreign from the simplicity I cherish. The outdoor public onsen offered a serene setting to soak and rejuvenate, although it can be on the pricier side, especially during peak travel times. I greatly appreciated the communal sauna, perfect for easing one’s muscles, alongside the invigorating mineral hot springs. The garden area framed my morning visits, granting a piece of tranquility that I reconvene as a mountaineer from Kathmandu. The staff were friendly, making my stay smooth and seamless. For those seeking a restorative experience, Yufuin Sansuikan presents various spa services, including massage therapy. While it may not be my first choice for a sustainable lodge, it certainly provides an inviting space for travelers to unwind and recharge. Consider this destination as a tranquil pause in your travels.
